Let's Start Cookin'!

I love to cook. In college is when I really discovered the love to cook. I have always enjoyed baking, but cooking wasn't something I did often. While in college, I decided to cook my way through a cookbook. It was just a generic one I picked up one day at Walmart. Every day, I would turn to a page and cook that recipe! It was a blast! My roommates would pitch in ingredients and so would some of my guy friends, who I am pretty sure just loved me for the food... I cooked almost every recipe in that book besides the seafood portion. I am not a fan of seafood, the taste or smell! This was the way I learned to cook and to love it.

Now that I am a mom, cooking is still something I love to do. It's just harder to love it sometimes. Not only am I a mom, I also am a full time teacher, cookie business owner, and an active part in our church community. It is a lot of running around after school and it's just way easier to swing my McDonald's to grab dinner for the family.

I have two sweet daughters, a 10 month old and a 4 year old. As my Ella starts to eat food, I have become more conscience of what I am putting in her new little body. So this is where I have decided to cook my way through a cookbook once again! It is something that I am proud of and I can't wait to dive into this cookbook to start loving to cook again.

This go around I will be cooking recipes from Chip and Joanna Gaines. I love everything about this couple. Her recipes seem easy and doable with my crazy lifestyle. So follow my journey through my blog to learn what recipes we loved, didn't enjoy, or was just too hard for my culinary skills. I'll let you know what worked, didn't work, or what I added to make it just a little more enjoyable for my taste buds. Plus, you get to see pictures of every recipe. Not just the ones in the book. So let's start cookin'!
